Generics

Nebivolol HCl

Used For

  • Hypertension

  • Stable, mild, and moderate chronic heart failure (in elderly patients ≥70 years)

  • May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents

How it works

Nebivolol is a ß1-selective adrenoceptor antagonist with vasodilating properties.

  • Its vasodilating action is attributed to interaction with the L-arginine/nitric oxide pathway, which is unique compared to other beta-blockers.

  • It lacks intrinsic sympathomimetic and membrane-stabilizing activity at therapeutic doses.

  • At clinically relevant doses, nebivolol does not block α1-adrenergic receptors.
