Mechanism of Action
Ampicillin and cloxacillin both inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis. Ampicillin offers broad-spectrum coverage, while cloxacillin adds resistance against β‑lactamase producing strains, enhancing antibacterial activity
Dosage

Adults & Elderly: 1–2 g orally every 6 hours, as directed

Children (2–12 years): Half adult dose (5–10 mL) every 6 hours

Neonates & Infants: Neonatal drops formulation; syrup typically not used in <2 years
How to Use

Shake well before use

Administer using a calibrated measuring device

Take preferably on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after food)

Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
Missed Dose / Overdose

Missed Dose: Administer as soon as remembered; if near next dose, skip it. Do not double dose.

Overdose: Seek medical assessment immediately; watch for gastrointestinal symptoms or allergic reactions.
Contraindications / When Not to Use

Hypersensitivity to penicillins or cephalosporins
