๐Ÿ“‹ Description

Acyclovir is a synthetic nucleoside analog that inhibits replication of herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). Once activated inside infected cells, it blocks viral DNA polymerase, halting viral DNA synthesis without affecting host DNA.
