Detail Description

  • Description

Acefylline is a phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4) inhibitor. Its mechanism of action involves the selective inhibition of the PDE-4 enzyme. PDE-4 is an enzyme that breaks down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) within cells. By inhibiting PDE-4, acefylline increases the levels of cAMP. Elevated cAMP levels lead to reduced inflammation and decreased production of inflammatory mediators like cytokines. This helps to diminish the inflammatory response in the airways and improves symptoms related to chronic respiratory conditions. Additionally, higher cAMP levels can lead to bronchodilation, which helps to open up the airways and improve airflow. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that primarily works as a competitive antagonist at histamine H1 receptors, effectively blocking the actions of histamine and alleviating allergy symptoms like itching and sneezing.
