Total Lipids

Total lipids refer to the total amount of fat-like substances found in the blood, including various types of lipids (fat molecules) such as cholesterol, triglycerides, phospholipids, and lipoproteins. These lipids are essential for many physiological functions, including energy storage, cell membrane structure, and the transportation of fat-soluble vitamins and hormones.

Total Protein

Total Protein is a blood test that measures the overall amount of proteins in the blood. Proteins are essential for various functions in the body, including maintaining fluid balance, supporting immune function, and acting as enzymes and hormones. The two main categories of proteins measured in this test are albumin and globulin.

Tracheal aspirate

A tracheal aspirate is a sample of mucus or fluid that is collected from the trachea (windpipe) or the lower respiratory tract. It is typically obtained through a procedure called tracheal aspiration, which involves using a suction device or catheter to collect the sample. This test is often performed to evaluate the presence of infection, inflammation, or other respiratory conditions.

Triglycerides

Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in your blood. They are the most common form of fat in the body and serve as an important energy source. When you eat, your body converts any calories it doesn't immediately need into triglycerides, which are stored in fat cells. Later, when your body needs energy, hormones release the triglycerides to be used as fuel.

Troponin I - (ICT)

Troponin I (ICT) refers to a blood test that measures the levels of Troponin I, a protein found in heart muscle cells. ICT stands for Immuno-Chemiluminescent Test, which is a type of laboratory technique used to measure the concentration of troponin I in the blood. This test is widely used to diagnose or assess heart attacks (myocardial infarction) and other cardiac conditions.

Troponin-T is a protein found in heart muscle cells that plays a critical role in muscle contraction. Troponin-T, along with other troponin proteins (Troponin-I and Troponin-C), helps regulate the contraction of heart muscle fibers. When the heart muscle is damaged, as in the case of a heart attack (myocardial infarction), Troponin-T is released into the bloodstream, making it an important biomarker for diagnosing heart damage.
